Welcome to the Pensford Field Environmental Trust website.  We are a charitable organisation that is dedicated to the care of an area of land in the heart of residential Kew, in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.  In the last 300 years this land has been used for a variety of purposes.  Its earliest recorded use, some 300 years ago, was as market gardens along with much of the surrounding area.  Later the land became a school playing field and most recently it has been largely neglected and has returned to a semi-wild state.

As custodians of the land, the Pensford Field Environmental Trust has developed a management plan that will ensure a rich and diverse environment and that will attempt to re-introduce some of the flora and fauna that would have existed before the area was first developed.

We believe passionately that the field should be accessible to all and we organise many events for schools and the local community throughout the year.  If you wish to find out more about future events, please visit the Future Events section of this site.  You may also be interested in looking at a selection of pictures taken of the field in the last few years.

As a non-profit organisation we rely on donations and various fund-raising events to fund the management plan, and volunteers to make it happen!  If you would like to help out at one of our work-days, please get in touch.

Pensford Field can be accessed via Pensford Avenue as shown on this map.
