Bird’s-Eye View of Summer Picnic

Aerial view of UKewLele and audience

On 3 July, Pensford Field had a summer picnic.  We had four bands playing - The Motleys, Nova and Melody (mother and daughter duo), UKewLele and the Richmond Youth Jazz Band.  We think well over a hundred adults came with lots of children.

We are not sure yet how much was raised from donations and the Pimms tent as we haven’t managed to do a final tally yet. But probably well over £1000.

The weather was absolutely perfect - not too hot, a bit of cloud cover but no chill in the air..   Generally we like to preserve the field for wildlife without too much of a human footprint but it is great to see friends and neighbours gathering in the field a few times a year to enjoy this wonderful space. We had a strong presence from Kew Rotary with about 20 members joining us - great to get support from other local groups..

But at last we have some bird’s-eye views thanks to one of our supporters Jake Mobbs who launched a drone during the event. We also have some lovely photos of the event taken by Brian Secrett.
